Teaching/Medical/Pharmacy Students

The practice has a long tradition of teaching both undergraduate medical students from Cardiff University, and GP Registrars, who are qualified doctors undertaking specialist training in General Practice.  We are very grateful to our patients for allowing a medical student or trainee GP to sit in during their consultations.  Please note that both medical students and Registrars are bound by the same code of medical ethics (including that of confidentiality) as the staff and doctors at the practice.  However, should you rather not have medical students present during the consultation please let us know and your wishes would be respected; rest assured that your care would not be compromised and you would continue to receive the same high standard of care in the case of your non-participation in teaching activities.

The Ashgrove Surgery is keenly involved in the education and training of undergraduate pharmacy students and post-graduate pharmacists. We are participating in a pilot to help pharmacists transition into primary care and have supported Cardiff University in providing placements for 4th year pharmacy students.
